Duplicate stitch is a colorwork technique that mimics the existing stitches with surface embroidery. This skill can be used for small and large colorwork motifs, such as adding names or monograms. Students will learn when to choose duplicate stitch, how to use a pattern or chart with duplicate stitch, maintaining tension while stitching, and more.
Teacher: Taylor Rutledge
Materials Needed: A finished swatch, in worsted-weight yarn, at least 30 stitches x 38 rows. Sample shown has a garter edge to prevent rolling. Any other supplies needed for class will receive a 20% discount at Cozy. Class fees include 1 paid help session on a Wednesday or Thursday at Cozy, after class is completed.
Skills Needed: Students should be able to knit and purl.
